Refurbish Mirror

Well I have been looking around at different blogs on how they have taken something that has been used and not wanted any longer and then give it a uplift and then they have a new item. I thought I would give it a try and see if I could turn some used things into something new again. Well my first project was a dresser mirror that I found at a thrift store. It was only $7.00. My oldest daughter has been bugging me for a fun mirror for her room so I thought this would be a perfect opputunity to try giving something an uplift. It was a dingy white color so the first thing I had to do was paint that black . I went to Hobby Lobby and picked up the ruffled pink ribbon (matched Jessica's room perfectly) which I hot glued around the frame of the mirror. After that I decided to put some bling on the mirror which I felt added to the mirror and since there was such a large space on the bottom of the mirror and it was solid black I felt something more had to be put on there so I went to WalMart and sure enough I found some glitter chipboard that said Love with some hearts and I hot glued that to this open area.
I have to say it turned out pretty good and Jessica loved it so that is all that really matters anyway.
Well until my next post.
Have a great day!

Family

I was rally excityed to do this layout. My best friend Debbie took the photo for us and I really think she did an awesome job. And I found this really cool paper at the Scrapbook Expo I attended last summer. The swirls have a flock feeling to them. I used Home Accents cartridge for the title. I love how elegant it looks. I was going to put this in my scrapbook but I am thinking maybe of putting this in a frame and hanging it in our family room. Well thats it for today. I will see you at my next post. Until then have a great day!

Decorate the Letter "J"

Well I was so excited after finishing the wooden "Q" for my nephew I thought I would do one for my oldest daughter. I went shopping at Michaels again (I love this store) and down the $1 to $3 isle they have all kinds of bins full of different items and sure enough there laid a white J. I am so excited because I don't have to paint this letter and I am thinking I am not going to cover it up with paper either. I can't wait to get started.
Ok so here is the finish product instead of covering the letter with scrapbook paper I decided to use pink jewels and hearts. She also loves Hello Kitty so I used the Hello Kitty cartridge and made one.

Here is a close up of Hello Kitty I also thought since the J had bling so of course I had to put some stickels on the dress and flowers. I think it turned out pretty good.

Well I will see you at the next post.

Layout of the girls

So my girls decided it would be a great idea to get some new piercings.Jessica my oldest decided on a nose piercing and Kassidy my youngest daughter decided on a belly piercing. Of course I was not exactly happy about it but it turned out pretty cute. So I decided I wanted them remember this so I did take some pictures and did a layout for them.

Decorating the Letter "Q"

So went to Michaels the other day and walking down the clearence isle I came across some of the wood letters marked down to .50 and so the search began. My youngest nephew's name is Quinton and so I thought to myself I will never find the letter "Q" but wouldn't you know it they did not just have one they had five "Q's". I was so excited and so I picked up one.

Ok so Quinton loves to hunt, fish, swim, hike, basically anything he can do outside with his Daddy he is doing it. So of course I had to get camouflouge paper for the base of the "Q" and they after sanding the edges I took my creative memories brown ink stamp and went around the edges of the letter.
Now it was time for me to pick out the embellishments to put on the "Q". I had some 3-D stickers that consisted of fishing, and hunting items.
Well I finished and I think it turned out pretty good. I will be sending it to Quinton on Monday I can not wait to hear how he likes it.

See you at my next post.

Girls Rule

Well I was able to go to a Spring Retreat a couple of weeks ago. It was really nice and I got more down this retreat then I have in a long time so that made it even better. So here is the layout I did using Paper DollDress up cartridge and Paisley cartridge. The flowers are made out of felt that already had the adhesive already on the back so all I had to do was peal the paper back and place it on my page. This ended up being a fun layout to do.

Ok so the rest of the week I am going to get my other projects posted for you. So you can see how much progress I have made.

Until my next post.
