Refurbish Mirror

Well I have been looking around at different blogs on how they have taken something that has been used and not wanted any longer and then give it a uplift and then they have a new item. I thought I would give it a try and see if I could turn some used things into something new again. Well my first project was a dresser mirror that I found at a thrift store. It was only $7.00. My oldest daughter has been bugging me for a fun mirror for her room so I thought this would be a perfect opputunity to try giving something an uplift. It was a dingy white color so the first thing I had to do was paint that black . I went to Hobby Lobby and picked up the ruffled pink ribbon (matched Jessica's room perfectly) which I hot glued around the frame of the mirror. After that I decided to put some bling on the mirror which I felt added to the mirror and since there was such a large space on the bottom of the mirror and it was solid black I felt something more had to be put on there so I went to WalMart and sure enough I found some glitter chipboard that said Love with some hearts and I hot glued that to this open area.
I have to say it turned out pretty good and Jessica loved it so that is all that really matters anyway.
Well until my next post.
Have a great day!

Zebra Valance

Well first I want to thank my best friend Debbie and my daughters boyfriend Andy. They both helped me so much in getting this project completed. We have decorated my daughters room with an accent of using zebra straights. So Andy and I went and bought the wood and then attached the wood together. after this was completed we bought 3 yards of zebra print material. Headed to my Friend Debbie's house where she had all the other supplies I would need to finish completing the project. Which would be a staple gun and hot glue gun. As you can see below is how we put it together. I ended up buying to much material for the Valance so I have decided to make some throw pillows for her room as well.

Picture Frame

Ok the product I used was a chipboard frame which I bought from Archivers in the Hot Spot section for a $1.99, Creative memories paper, Making Memories Scrapbook color brown paint, ribbon, flowers, brads and some modge podge.
It is a really simple  project to put together.
First you paint the frame front and back I also sponged the back to give it a rustic kind of look to it. while it is drying I traced the picture circle and used an exact o knife to cut the circle out. from there I uspread modge podge all over the  front of the frame and layed the paper down on top of it.
Once this had dried i used sand paper file to file the edges around the frame as well as the inside of the circle to make sure I had no paper fraying. I then i decorated the front of the frame with the ribbon, flowers and brads.
I hope you enjoy.

Kassidy

My Sixteen year old daughter has decided to do her room in Zebra print as well as bright green. Part of the make over she has decided it would be really neat to have her name in zebra for one of her walls. So her and I went to Micheals and purchased the chipboard letters, black paint, some bling and of course some zebra print paper. After painting each letter I then faced them down on the scrapbook paper and traced and cut each letter out. I used modge podge to attach the paper to each letter. Once this was finished I took some sand paper and sanded each letter down that had excess paper hanging of the letters. Finally we put some clear bling in various places on each letter.
