First time using Vinyl

I have been wanting to use vinyl for a long time but was afraid on how to use it. Well I was surprised on how easy it was to use it. I was so excited that now i just want to vinyl everything and anything..LOL... Well I found some clear cups with lids and straws and decided this would work great for my daughters and one of their friends. On two of the cups I used Sesame Street Font Cricut Cartridge and on the other one I used Cuttin Up Cricut Cartridge.

They really turned out really cute. I can not wait to vinyl something else!

Ok until my next post!

Look Hoo's 50

I love watching youtube tutorials on crafting, card making, card folding, new tricks or hot tips. I have really learned alot buy watching them. I highly recommend taking a look at some of the them.

While I was watching them the other day I came across a tutuorial regarding embosing folders and a really hot tip that I want to share with all you. I will list the youtube link below to the actual tutuorial.

But basically embossing a piece of paper is not the only thing you can do with the embossing folders. If you take your ink pad and ink the inside of your embossing folder then place a piece of paper inside of it and run it thru your embossing machine the ink will transfer onto the paper. Depending on which side you ink will depend if the embossed item will be inked or the flat areas will be linked.

I love this tip and will be using it alot. below is a card I did using this technique. I think it turned out pretty cute.

ok here is the link I told you I would add:

My First Birthday Banner

So I thought it would be a great surprise to have a birthday banner up and ready for my friend Alana at work. But I had never made a banner to hang on a wall before. The only banner's I have made were in my scrapbooks. And this was going to be on a bigger scale.

I found the banner on Plantin School Book Cricut Cartridge. The ribbon the was placed on each banner was made also from Plantin School Book Cricut Cartridge, but I wanted to have some dimension on the banner so I took the white ribbon I cut and ran it thru my Sizzix Boutique machine using on of my sizzix embossing folders. The letters were also cut form Plantin School Book Cricut Cartridge and I thought it needs something  more on the letters so I took my stickels and covered all my letters with them.

After I was finished I thought the banner turned out pretty good and was easier then I thought it would be once I begun. Below are some of the pictures of the banner.

Well until my next post.

My First Canvas Painting

One of my good friends was getting ready to celebrate her 50th birthday and we all decided that we would have a surprise party for her. She has always wanted to do a painting class so one of the ladies in our group arranged a surprised evening of painting, eating cake and enjoying each other. And enjoying the fact that we were able to pull it off with out the birthday girl finding out what we were up too... So when Alana (birthday girl) got there and after the shock wore off, she got to choose what painting we were all going to do. Alana choose to paint some lilly pads floating in some water...

Alana the Birthday Girl

So we all had to find an empty seat and each empty seat was our blank canvas' where we would be creating our masterpieces.

Once the instructor gave us our directions we were off and creating.. It was alot of fun and really not as hard as I thought it would be originally below you we will see a my painting.

Once we were all completed the Instructor took a picture of the group with our finished paintings. It was really a great time and I might have to take up painting for next hobby...

Thanks for stopping by and reading my latest post. Hope to have you stop back again.

Until the next post.

I'm Back!!!!

OK, OK, I know that I have been missing in action for sometime. But I have been so busy with life in general. Working Full Time Mom, I am sure alot of you know how life just gets so busy you sometimes don't know if you are coming or going. So I feel things are back on a schedule and I will have more time to spend on my blog and share some of my crafting ideas.
I am very excited to start crafting again and showing you different and fun ideas I have learned over the past couple of months. I am also hoping to show off some of my talented friends crafting ideas with all of you as well.
I have collected a good number of cricut cartridges over the past year but have not had an opportunity to use them and see what all they can do. So the plan is that I am going to do a project a week using one of my cricut cartridges and then share it with all of you.
I also have a good friend that has started selling Stampin Up and I have been enjoying buying all kinds of new things from her. I will be sharing some of her projects as well as sharing her link so you can go to her blog directly and see some of her beautiful work.
I also have a good friend that sells Creative Memories and will be showing off some of her awesome crafting.
So I have alot of great ideas and plans I will be sharing with ya'll and I can not wait to get started. Thank you for sticking around while I was MIA.

Refurbished Chandelier

I have been working at getting Jessica's room finished and so far I refurbished a mirror for her and now Jessica has decided that she would like to have a chandelier for her room. Well I went shopping for one and they were pretty pricey so I thought maybe I could just make her one... So that began the shopping trips I made to garage sales as well as thrift stores and sure enough I found one for $4.00 it was this ugly gold but I did not care because I was giving it a complete remake.

So here is the chandelier after I have sprayed painted it. Just getting it painted black made alot of difference.

Here is the items I used. The pink beads were actually necklaces I found in the party isle at Hobby Lobby for a $1.00 each. I then found the jewels all on clearance at Michaels so that all cost me no more then $5.00.

Ok well now I am starting to make some progress. Starting to look like a chandelier. I had my husband hang it up in Jessica's room so I could finish it while it was hanging up.

Ok so I took some ribbon and wrapped it around the base of the lighting and the remaining of the beads I wrapped around the chains.

Here is the completed project. I think it turned out pretty good.

And here it is with the lights on. Jessica loved it.... Well I hope you all enjoyed and I will see you at my next post.
